I am a 200 hour register Yoga Instructor. I received my certification at the Bhakti Center in Manhattan, NY. My classes are a union of my interest in body awareness, safe alignment, and Bhakti philosophy. Currently I teach weekly donation-based classes via zoom. Fire-Up Flow [Level II - 60 minutes] This is a full flow class that will build in intensity, ebbing and flowing through various postures designed to accelerate our hearts, build our strength, but most importantly focus on our breath. A familiarity with yoga is recommended, but not required. No mat needed, but all will need a sturdy metal water bottle, and a blanket or two. Sweating is expected. *
Flow & Restore [Level I - 60 minutes] This is a "goldilocks" class of half flow - half restore. We will begin with a brief and brisk flow to increase our heart rate and warm up our body, and we will close with 25-30 minutes of restorative postures to stretch, mend, and heal our bodies, hearts, and minds. Each pose is held for 3-8 minutes for maximum benefits and relaxation. Many homemade props will be used, but nothing will need to be purchased to reap the benefits of these restorative postures. You can use blankets, firm pillows, hard-back books, a scarf, a wall, a chair, etc. No yoga experience necessary, all levels welcome.*
*Both classes can be modified for all mobility levels, but if you have any injuries or regular pain (particularly knee and back pain), please contact me in advance so I can prepare modifications and recommend some specific adjustments. Virtual teaching removes some obstacles (location), but creates others. I want everyone to be safe since I won't be able to see everything through the ether.
